How can I remove insurance points from my drivers record in Florida?

When you receive certain types of traffic violations in Florida you may elect to attend driver improvement class or traffic school to keep points off your driving record. The HSMV states that the one benefit that come with this choice is that your auto insurance rates cannot go up, though if you have a safe driver discount your insurance carrier may choose to remove this from your insurance policy.

Other advantages are that the fine is reduced up to 18% and points are not added to your driver license record. In Florida, you can only choose this option for traffic violations five times in a lifetime and cannot have made this same election in the preceding twelve months.
